Prayer for Safe Travel

A daily prayer for safe travels. Whether you travel for work or school, or are heading out on a vacation, pray for God’s protection for your travels.

Lord, you watch over my coming and going, you guard me at home and when I’m away. As I travel from home, keep watch over me. Protect me and keep me safe. Surround me with your love and comfort. Carry me through my travels and bring me home safely. For you are my guide, leading me day and night. May I continue to always follow where you lead, for now and ever more. Amen.

Scripture for the Week

Psalm 121 (NIV)

¹I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
²My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

³He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
⁴indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

⁵The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
⁶the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

⁷The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
⁸the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Prayer for Travelers

O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve those who travel; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to their journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
