A Prayer for Thanksgiving

Heavenly and Almighty Father, I give thanks to you today. Lord, all I see, all I have, all I am is from you. I give thanks for my family, even though family may be messy and complicated, you’ve given us a special bond and love for each other. I give thanks for my friends and loved ones, those you’ve placed in my life to bless and guide me, to teach and direct me, to love and support me. I give thanks for the ways you support me, through my work and through the generosity of others. Lord, you know my needs and you take care of me. I give thanks for all the blessings of this world, for even in a difficult, tumultuous world, you are present and you show your blessings each day, if I’ll just open my eyes to them. In all I do and say, I give thanks to you, Lord, for you love me and lead me. All this I pray through our loving Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
